Candy Cane Lane

Hailey & Clayton were both in our Christmas play at school this year. Clay was a sheepard and Hailey was a cheerleader. Thanks to help from Grandma Janie and a few others I was able to sew her a real cheerleading uniform!

Bye Grandpa!

While we were having a farwell send off for Boyd 12/1/06 Michelle came running down the hallway yelling, " I lost my tooth." Of course Hailey was right there thru the whole thing wondering why everyone was getting so excited about Michelle loosing a tooth. Can you imagine what was going thru her mind. Anyway I told Michelle she is going to have to put this under her pillow for the tooth fairy and the tooth fairy leaves money for the tooth. Hailey said, " you have got to be kidding" She couldn't believe that you could get money for losing teeth! It was a great night, alot of fun and excitment. (Lori)

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have so much to be thankful for. Most of all is our family. We are blessed to have both sides of the family so close. We get to have 2 thanksgiving dinners! Thank you to everyone that made this weekend such a success!

Also, I'm working on a project! I have gotten this great idea to make Hailey's costume for the Christmas play at school this year. She is going to be a cheerleader. Little did I know that sewing is very complicated. Bill's grandma was up this weekend. She helped me get started. I finished the top but the sleeves are too long and well, the skirt is another story. Needless to say, Grandma is coming back up this weekend to help me finish it. Thanks Grandma!!

My Hawaiian Name is:

Nalani Alohilani

Almost 24 hours alone!!

We had almost 24 hours to ourselves this weekend. My wonderful husband made arrangements for us to spend some time without the kids. Bill had gotten a gift card for a couples massage for his birthday. We spent most of Saturday hanging out. We started with our massage. It was so cool to have him right there with me. Thanks Holly, CJ, and Angela! It was fun! Then we spent some time wandering the District. We are trying to save money so we opted for renting movies and grabbing some KFC to take home. We watched 3 movies before heading to bed. It was so nice to be able to sleep in. Thanks Gene & Lori! We really appreciate it! On to the next crazy week.

I'm pretty sure our lives are going to be crazy until after New Years. With company parties, Thanksgiving, Hailey's birthday, and Christmas, we have no time to sit and relax. That reminds me! I still have to find some thing to wear to our party. I hate shopping!!

Happy "Sweet November" :)

Fun at Shasha & Papa's!

A New Schedule

So we have decided that daycare is just way too expensive! My boss has agreed to let me work from home two days a week. This will save us $60 a week!! It is taking a little bit of adjusting for all of us. Hailey and Clay are doing pretty well so far. This is the first week. I feel I am getting more accomplished being home. I don't have as many distractions. Pray for us to get the kinks worked out. It always takes a little bit to get settled. I'm having to move things around to make my desk at home work for me.

That's not the only change! Bill will be going on nights starting Sunday. We always seem to struggle when he is away. Please pray for the kids to be okay with it. Hailey seems to act up when he isn't here. We were originally told it would only be 2 months, but now we are hearing it might be as long as 5 months. Hopefully, it will go by quickly!

LAKE OF THE OZARKS

Our parents have been taking a yearly vacation to the Lake of the Ozarks for a few summers now. Well, they fell in love with the lake. In April or May they bought a house right on the lake. It's beautiful! We all went down last week and spent the week on the lake. As you can see in the pictures, I was having to much fun enjoying myself. I didn't take enough pictures. There is an animal preserve near the house. They take just about any animal that needs a home. They have everything from ponies to camels, lamas, even a zebra! They are all pretty much domesticated. We fed them carrots right out of our hands. Our friends the Corbetts were also there in a house just down the road. We went over one night for dinner. We had heard this rumor about a pet deer that roamed the area. (Doug said he had seen it, but we thought he was seeing things!) We were out on the water at Corbetts and this deer came right up too us. The story goes that he was abandoned in that area as a fawn. Some people found him and put a bright orange collar on him. They wanted to make sure he didn't become anyone's dinner. It was really amazing. I have never been that close to a live wild animal. He let us pet him and fed him.

Our vacation was great! We can't wait til the next time we are able to return. CJ & Angela, you two were missed. Every time we turned around it seemed like we were saying, "I wish CJ & Ang were here."
